View Full Version : ! Utility - Bombsight Table 2 !

Bombsight Table 2 is a development of original Bombsight Table.Imperial measurement units usage has been corrected, now it correctly displays distance in nautical miles and speed in knots. The function is enhanced with bombsight angle calculation for manual release of ordonance and with measurement of distance to target (based on manual flight data input).

Awesome work! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
A must have for bomber pilots.

Excellent work, but I just have 1 question, would different weights of bombs alter the bomb release angle?

Thanks guys much appreciated S! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

Excellent, I've been using the 1st utility, and it works very nicely. Now that you say the imperial measurements have been corrected, B-25 bombing should be even more accurate!!

Excellent! Thanks! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I too have been using the Bombsight Table with much success.

Now, is this a standalone or a patch? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

This program rocks, it is a well thought out implementation and very useful in several ways.

Nice work WT, will test it out tomorrow for sure http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
I like the time remaining to target info.

Shameless BUMP in a good cause!

deerhunter i should think that no, heavier bombs should NOT affect angle seeing all things accelerate at 9.8 ms/s in a vacuum, a feather or a 1600 lb bomb.

if this is modelled, so it is.

try a few out, my guess is a bomb is a bomb in PF and no none should fall any faster, just make a bigger bang.

Well I didn't try with any different sized bombs, I just wanted to find out how good is this program.
So, I took up a He-111h6 at 1,000 metres armed with 4 500 KG bombs, my target...a bridge. On my 1st attempt I scored a direct hit using the angle calculator which is pretty impressive considering it was my 1st use of the Bombsight Table.
I decided to up the ante a litle bit and flew at 2,000 metres and once again I scored a direct hit on the bridge. So there I am thinking to myself "this isn't funny anymore, I'm hitting with pinpoint accuracy and I'm not even using the 111's auto bombsight".
I decide it's no more Mr Niceguy, let's give it a real test.... bomb the bridge at 5,000 metres and at an angle that cuts across the bridge. I set myself up for my run let the Bombsight Table do it's little thing and drop the bombs. After what seems an eternity, I hear absolutely nothing and the bridge is intact. I've finally caught out the Bombsight Table, "gotcha this time sonny, you've missed the target completely" I'm thinking smugly to myself it was Moggy 1 Bombsight Table 0. Then all of a sudden I get the confirmation target destroyed message ringing in my ears.....no more bridge from being bombed at 15,000+ feet!!!!!
What an absolutely fantastic program, if you're absolutely rubbish at level bombing like I am (or should I say was) you really need to download this little beauty, just awesome.
You guys at White Tigers have made a believer out of a sceptic that's for sure.

Exactly, how do you use it? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

The keys are in the readme.

From memory, you can bring it to the foreground with Shift-Pause. You can alter height, speed and distance by holding down one of Alt, Shift and Ctrl then pressing the PgUp and PgDown keys.

If you don't understand what all the figures represent, you probably need to do some reading around the subject first.
