Ok the poll results indicate that there are two dudes that want the current bugs worked out first

You don't seem to have any idea about what goes on do you? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

That's ok, I'll let you in on it.

THE PLANES DO NOT TAKE ANY TIME AWAY FROM WORK ON THE PATCH!

So there you have it. And it kind of makes your poll a little redundant doesn't it? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

This has been 1C:Maddox public service announcement.

Have we had any new planes since the release?
Has the plane add-on been anounced to be released first? Have you been on the moon?

Well, everybody knows the fixes are coming, and that it is rated as highest priority over planes or even future sims...so, let quit the same old song.

The patch is coming, and it is for fixes, not new planes.

That doesn't make any sense at all. If you're working on a plane, then your obviously not working on the patch right?

It's been said before but it still doesn't sink in with people that the planes are being made by 3rd party modellers not 1C:Maddox.

So just be a bit more patient and have a bit of faith that 1C knows how to run their business better than you or I do.

I want the patch as bad as anyone else, believe me.

This horse is already dead and rotting so I'll leave further explanation on the internal structuring of a game developer to someone else. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

You don't seem to understand, let me explain it to you. 3rd parties ONLY do the models. 1C has to do the flight model and actually place the model into the game. That takes time my friend, time that could be spent on the patch.

Yes BUT, that one guy who is working on the plane could be working on the patch.

I want to get one thing straight also. I am not complaining. I could care less as to what order we receive our gifts from 1C. I'm just saying that working on one thing DOES take time away from the other, that's all.

but you realise that someone good at one thing may not be good at another? i don't think any business is full of renaissance men.

XyZspineZyX

Yes I do. BUT each one still takes time away from the other, you can't deny that. Plus, I'm sure that Oleg and a few others are involved in each WHICH (again) takes time away from the other.

how do you know about all this stuff? there are tons of new planes that are in development, but we're getting the patch soon. if these planes were delaying the patch, we would be waiting years for the patch while these planes were getting finished. i'm sure that while the bugs were being fixed, some planes got worked on. whatever aircraft were ready at the time of the release made it. i doubt anyone waited for the planes to be done. i know thats not what you're saying, but you saying that the aircraft dev. takes away from the bug fixes is simply speculation. you know no more about it than i do. if you worked at the company, and felt that the aircraft were taking too much time, then i would think you had a point.

Hey Dylan, i reckon they should switch the guy who is working on the patch with the guy who is working on the planes coz the guy on the patch aint working fast enough. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Only joking guys. Taking cover.

What your saying isn't speculation either? Why should I think that you have a point, you don't work there either.
Look this is simple, you devote man hours on one thing, then you have less man hours to spend on the other. Plain and simple.

And Steve, I don't care how fast things get done. I'm just arguing about the time management thing /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

apparently you didn't read well - "you know no more about it than i do"

again, one person may not be good at one thing, while another may be. so... someone who is good at making these planes flyable will be wasting hours if they cannot make some addon planes. if you told them to fix bugs, they would not know what the hell to do. just as you can't sit a construction worker down in the seat of a CEO and expect him to run the business effectively.

I agree with you completely Tim and understand what you're saying. But, there are guys (Oleg) who oversee over each of these projects and have to spend time working on each. And (as I've said before) working on one takes time away from the other.

XyZspineZyX
06-26-2003, 01:06 AM
agreed but for these guys i doubt the time it takes is a significant amount

MMMMM intresting points hats off to all with good materail and subjects and points of value I do in deed respect all.But I said it before and I will defintely say it now FIX WHAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED FIRST.I do love the fact that the flip side of the coin people are makin planes.I wish I too had the nessary skill to do code and planes.
