http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gifUbisoft is sitting on a gold mine, & I don't think they know it. They have a navy game that is coming out very soon called Silent Hunter 3 and a ground game called Brothers in arms. Why could'nt they have it so that we can add these games FB/ACE & PF. Just think of the movie we can make. We would be able to make better missions and campaigns. Now I know some of you out there will say that it will be to much on our PC's to handle. I say, " we can put a man on the moon, but we can't come up with something that won't hurt the frame rates" I for one would love to play a campaign with all of the above in it. Some where out there, there is a way, we just have not thought of it yet. I hope there is a server out there that can handle this. Darn, I would be willing to pay to play if this was so. Well, why can't we. Have a good day M8's.

it's a very nice dream i say....but the problem with it is that is exactly this: a dream.... MAYBE our childrens, or their childrens will have the fortune to have such a virtual eviroment available.... i for one can't even imagine such a complex game too soon. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif
beside that, just think of all the bickering this will attract... why can't i shot down a spitfire with a rifle? or why my destroyer was sunk with only two torpedoes? etc....

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gifSir I'm still kinda new at this stuff. So I would like it if you don't call me an idiot. You would not like it if someone called you a name. Ok, now that I said that, what about this then. If a person went out and bought the [let's say brother in arms] the best graphics he/she would see would be for that game. All others, the graphics would not be as great. Samething for the air sim. The planes would look great but the ground war and the sea war would not. Would that help the fram rates? As far as the bickering is concern, no mater what game is being played you will have the bickering. It's sad but true. Maybe not to far in the future some one or a company will come up with a server that can handle this. And yes mate I guess it is a dream http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

We are not that far out, for VR that is.
I have seen some demos for a firm that was putting in systems so they could run there factory in VR. I know it does not sound like a good thing to do, but anyway.
They have systems now that can run realtime VR like we would want, but there are 5 new chips coming out this summer, on top of the multi core processors and the physics chip!
That when paired with the multi core computers it will allow us to do some awsome things with graphics.
As soon as the write up is where I can link to it I will.
We are jumping in computing power about ever 10 weeks now where we where doing that every four years. It does not take long to get to what we need at that speed.
I was shown at this invite only class on these systems that we have had the technology for a while to do these graphics, but they and the companys had to wait till the software had caught up! Thats a change because in the past it was the other way around most of the time.

Guys, you have NO idea what it's going to be like in 10 years from now. In 10 years, todays games will look like PONG compared to what lies ahead. Patience is your best friend.

I think we would need a nice multi-cpu, multi-thread and PPU equipped system...in about 10 years or maybe less it will be a reality. Imagine the games!
