Hello all, been away from forums a while and had a couple of queries about 405 and dial up.Sorry if these have been asked a zillion times.
1. Can I download it on a dial up server as I get disconnected after approx 2 hours.
2. Can I download it to disc at work as thats what Ive done with previous patches.

Any help much appreciated.

Yes to both. If you download using the Boonty software you can start and stop the download for as long as it takes to download the whole thing (about 170MB). This is what I did for my first purchase.

Then...I bought another for my daughters' PC so she and I could play together and that one I downloaded at work, burned to a disk, and installed on her PC. No problems.

Just make sure you read (and follow) the destructions here:

Maybe use a download manager like Getright. That will allow you to resume downloads.

For Crash_Moses,
Hi,
I didn't know you could burn to cd on download. Did you have to do anything special? I have high speed access at work and could just bring in my laptop (very slow dial-up at home). I thought boonty looked for game installation.??
Could you explain what steps you took to get the download and burn it? I would be very grateful.
Thanks

Hmmm...dunno...I just did. I just now looked through the installation guide (which I followed when I did the download) and it says Boonty will look for IL-2 before downloading but it doesn't say that Boonty won't download if it can't find IL-2. The answer may be further down the thread but I haven't gone through all the posts yet. The answer may be there. The full set of instructions are here: New addon Released! Pe-2 Installation Guide (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/9691071834)

However, I also checked the instructions for downloading Pe-2 and step 11 states:

Step 11
When Boonty runs it will start to scan your HD for other games, just cancel it if your uncomfortable with it, it doesn't effect the download. Once the scan has finished or cancelled the download will begin.

That thread is here: Can someone please explain? (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/1071011834/r/8891011834#8891011834)

I suppose you could just give it a try. If it doesn't work you could install IL-2 on your laptop, download Pe-2, and then delete IL-2 afterwards. But I'm pretty sure you won't have to do that. I mean, why would they care if you owned IL-2 or not? If you paid for it what's the difference? It's not like a Windows upgrade or something I would think (thank God!). http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
