Haven't posted (or flown) in a couple months but had to share this.

Check out the new PowerColor X850-PE PCI-E card that just arrived at Newegg. Look familiar?

It comes with PF obviously. Now ask yourself, how big of a PF fan are you? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Price = $699.00 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

I just bought the following:

ASUS A8N-SLI Motherboard
Athlon 64 3500 (90nm) CPU
BFG 6800GT OC (PCI Express)
WD 10K Raptor 74GB Hard Drive
1 GB RAM (Corsair PC2700 DDR) [I already had this]

Do you think this system will run IL-2 pretty good? (I mean 1280x960, high quality graphics, AA and AF, etc...)

01-21-2005, 02:34 PM
nice VGA card but i'll wait with upgrading until BOB is in the stores(just got a XFX 6800GT)

01-21-2005, 03:06 PM
The Shonizzle is the JMk396 system with two PCIE/SLI 6800gts ...thats on my list next year when prices drop

01-21-2005, 03:10 PM
But you can't double it up for SLI. PC Express.
If I could how much would it cost?

Lets see:

Motherboard for SLI PC Express ~$250
2 Video cards..................~$1400
May as well get a new proc.....~$900
Definitely need a new power

Wow IL2 is expensive.

C'mon LUCKY SEVEN.....(or the Pats win on Sunday).

Once you go Track... you never go back.

<S> Hunde, where the heck have you been dangit! Good to see you online again, I was getting worried.

Check your UBI PT btw

Nice card... I will probably put it's successor in my 4G 64 (128???)Bit rig when I upgrade for BoB in about 1.5-3 years.

01-21-2005, 07:57 PM
I think I will just have the machines build my new machine....should be holodecks available by the time I can next afford that card in a rig that can run it...*sigh*

I'd rather have this:

you are not your computer parts.

ill be more impressed with your proof of home ownership and hummer in the driveway.

any 18 year old can buy a 2500 dollar computer

01-22-2005, 06:44 AM
I am in the process of buying a new home and the $1850 I have saved up for a new rig is going right into a down payment.

Fortunately, my current rig does quite well. Moving from a crappy apartment to my own house is much more exciting than going from water=0 to water =2.

And by the time BoB comes out, I should have a new stash saved up.
