Finally scored me first online kill today (Actually, it might techincally be my second, but the first time I got killed when I turned head-on into a Spit, and sliced off his wing with mine before crashing)! Turned in behind a Spit in a P-40 and let the .50's go. Even though a Focke-Wulf downed me, I had the satisfaction of seeing *player* was downed by Divine-Wind.

*laughs maniacally in euphoria*

So, does that mean you're buying?

Seriously, Congrabulations!!

I have enough difficulty trying to down the AI. I don't even bother to fly online.

Good hunting!

You have no idea what you're missing out on, Brass: The crashes... The curses... The combusting planes every 5 feet... Oh, and the lag! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

The real fun in flight sims (or any game, for that matter) comes from the multiplaer section. Dogfighting real people who in most cases can outfly the AI (of course, doing that is very easy http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif) is very challenging, and that what makes it awesome. All I can say is...

... Thank heavens for TrackIR.

The only fun that i got last time was that i was rammed for a couple of times from behind. There are tooooo much servers, that are not on full reall and that kinda kills all the fun. Especially labels. And outside views. But if you get a server with everything on... then the true fun starts!

Grats mate - since I got my first last week, I have downed about 4 - but most of the time have been killed by another almost immediately!

Seriously. I swear those Spitfires are all the %&(@!^# place! Everywhere I fly, "A Spit! What's this? 2 Spits! OMGWTFBBQ! IT'S A SPIT!"

You'd think these guys would be tired of spitting fire by now... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif

just out of curiosity, where are you flying?

=AFJ= Dedicated, um, 334th Dedicated, 69th, pretty much anyplace with good ping and at least 10 players. But mostly AFJ and 334th. I'm on... Well, any time of the day. Yesh, I know they're all 'arcadey' servers, but those are the only quality servers I can find that still run 4.04m.

Edit: By the way, where's rnzoli's Coop Server gone?

I like spits. They make a good target practice for me in my BF-G2 (for spits V) and BF-G6 (for spits IX). There is nothing more rewarding that to see one spinning and slamming to the ground after chase/fight.

You know, it's not the plane, it's the pilot http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks for asking, I had to pull it from action temporarily, because the weekend results proved that the concept behind it wasn't working.

I will make a few changes and then it will be back online later this week. I will also post an update with more details on it's forum thread today.

On a DF server yes.

In real life, it was neither the plane, nor the pilot - it was the "opportunity", as one veteran put it. And your opportunities often depended on factors outside your reach (what mission you had to fly, with what type of plane, what kind of opposition you had to face etc.).

You needed skills and luck up there, but mostly luck. Like Napoleon once said, "I'd rather be lucky than good."
