most of them were built after german principles,of which blueprints were brought to japan by submarines, so nothing very special with these. the japanese had other parts of interesting engineering, like the butterfly flaps.
anyway, thank you for the links.

I noticed on one of the rocket planes that the flight duration was 80 seconds!
Intercepting at a distance must of been harowing - if it ever saw service (which i don't think it did thank God)

I have an awesome anime short on VHS that features the "Ohka" or 'Cherry Blossom'. It's called 'Cockpit'. Looking at the pictures linked in this thread and comparing it to the anime, the illustrator was dead on! There was another short that featured a protoype FW-190 and that too looked a lot like the Dora.

um well rocketplane-flying goes this way i think:
-engine on
-"wohoooooooo"
-somewhere in the stratosphere engines runs outta fuel
-attacking bombers whilst gliding
-"yaaaah"
-wasting all the ammo in the first strike
-"*click* awwww"
-trying to get back to base in one piece whilst gliding
-landing
-"woho down in one piece!"
-stick's on runway, plane rolls over stick, rests of the high explosive fuel do what they can do best
-some letter brought to your relatives.

Stubby that wasn't a prototype that was a Ta-152H1 infact.

The stories in the film are fictional but the planes are not. Me thinks in the last one the american pilot is flying a tony.

Wish I knew where they sold it and if it is on dvd I saw it on vhs,but I want better quality.
