I tried to find that....is it in the actual game or on the program in your computer?

In the main folder of your game there's an ini file containing this. Open it and change the described setting.

The arrows don't show you where every bullet you fired went to, and the bullets don't come out of your guns as arrows either. What the arcade=1 feature will show you is the trajectory of the bullets were on when they hit your target and what they struck or should have passed through. It's kind of like when they solve shooting deaths on CSI.

After a while the arrows start to disappear. I don't know if the game can only record a limited number of them or if they disappear with time or what.

One thing that really is a drawback to using the arcade=1 feature (even as a training tool) is that you have to put up with the comic book speech baloons as well. Why that was never disabled or made into a separate toggle is beyond me.

The bullet indicator is all fine and nice, but those mega-oversized speech bubbles <I'm on fire, PK http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif> are just sooo annoying. Sad that there was never done anything about that by Oleg.
How am I supposed to look at the hit indicators with those big white puffs in the way?
My eyes are still good enough to see the screen totally sharp, though after 2 meters it gets a little blurry. Did Oleg assume that everone who plays this game is 80 years old and wants to relive his long lost past?

/rant off

Sorry, just had to vent a little, but those speech bubbles simply *iss me off.

Er...I've changed it as you guys directed, saved it and then restarted the computer, opened the game and everything is the same?

What exactly is suppose to happen? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Of course everything looks the same. Did you expect it to look like a comic or something?
(Ok in some aspects it DOES look like one) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif Shoot, man, you gotta shoot.
And then of course hit something.
When the ground is hit, little glowing dots indicate where you scattered your load. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/crackwhip.gif
And on airplanes, as previously mentioned, there appear arrows, their size and direction dependant on the direction and strength of a hit.
And really biiiig comic bubbles that will show you if you opponent feels
in some way unhappy http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif with his airplane or is dead. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/disagree.gif

Shoot, man, you gotta shoot.

oh yeah...why didn't I think of that?? Hang on, I did! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I did everything as per directions, and shot down about ten planes, no difference. No tracks, no bubbles, etc etc.

I've changed it to arcade=1 and saved it.

Are you trying this out online? Because you only see the arrows offline...

Yep...offline. Computers and I don't exactly see eye to eye, they do strange inappropriate and bizarre things with me.

This must be one of those cases. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif

It's a novelty only anyway. The limited damage model (lmao, didn't think I'd be saying that) can't really 'credit' each potentially decisive strike.

In IL2:46 I think there are 5 basic damage sectors. Not enough to delineate all the possibilities. The increase in the damage sectors and increased detail of the damage model is the single thing I'm most looking forward to in the next-gen sims.
