What does "Over target" means in this report? I have noticed this when new DGen was released (v3.03 patch).

I got that only twice so far. One time in scramble mission, and one time in CAP mission described above.

I would understand that if I drive a bomber or in ground attack mission but this.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Also must say that I did not notice this b4. Just after I installed v3.03m. So it has to do something with new DGen http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

I think it just gives you the time that you were over the primary objective point displayed on the map.....

I still play my campaign, but no new "Over target" messages.
That new DGen is weird. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

Have you ever played with "No Map Icons" turned off? If you do you'll see that there is a line on the inflight map from your plane icon to the next waypoint. As you pass over each waypoint the line snaps the next waypoint. I haven't tested, but suspect you have to fly over the waypoint where your "attack orders" are specified closely enough to make the line snap to the next waypoint to qualify as being "Over Target".

It may also be related to "Recon" target types which only occur in some missions. What sort of mission was it that you were flying when you got this report?

Here it is.http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm playing this campaign on 'Realistic' settings. I use to do that for quite some time now.. IMO the most interesting although it can be frustrating sometimes.

I got that message only twice so far in campaign. I have finished 30 missions in my campaign.

Version of the game is 3.03m. I'm playing New Guinea 1942 campaign (aircrafts by years all on default, for 1942 it is Ki43-1a Hayabusa).

So far I got only three type of missions:

1.Strike Escort
2.Combat Air Patrol (CAP) that one described above, in which I got the message.
3.Scramble (also got the message in one of these missions).

I can also say that there isn't any other type of missions in New Guinea 1942 (IJA fighter). Those three types are the only one. Also every three type of missions are the same http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif every time (in the term of target location; this however changes only for CAP missions because the border is moving in allied favour). The only one of those three that is slightly different is Scramble mission; sometimes they inbound form North-West, sometimes from South..

I'm so curios about this issue that maybe I'm gonna copy/past those missions in "single player" and fly 'em on pit off and icons on settings just to see what is happening.

Also, has anyone actually experienced this?

Martin, I believe Tully has it right. Are you flying all of your waypoints (and 'hitting' them) in every mission? If not, you will not get the Over Target message, in practice it has nothing to do with Mission Complete (which occurs if you RTB I believe).

Dgen can 'track' (for want of a better term) some events during the mission, one of which is arriving at your 'target' waypoint (it is not necessary to arrive at this waypoint to complete every mission).

Why are you still pursuing this? You`ve had several good replies and I agree with them, quite simple. You`ve passed over the target and met some mission requirement.

Why do you ignore them like they don`t exist without a word of acknowledgement? Quite rude really.

First of, I apologize for being rude.http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif That wasn't my intention http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif.

Here's why I pursuit the issue;
1st-I'm curious about issue (never experienced it b4, and I'm passionate campaign player)
2nd-No-one yet says "Yes, I have actually experienced it, I got that message also"
3rd-All explanations are good, but I feel something is missing there; why? Simply because that happened to me only twice; I have flown 35 missions (out of that number only three types of missions CAP, Strike Escort, Scramble)

About 'reaching' these waypoints, well, I fly all of my non-engagement time on autopilot (it's really hard if I would do it manually; some of the missions are over 2hrs long - the longest being 2:24..). One of these missions being Scramble mission (I get "Over Target" there?!? -- there's virtually no waypoints there, at least not one that you cannot reach within 5mins at decent althttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif). Nevertheless, I will check once more that issue in some of my future missions -- will try to fly shorter missions manually all the way, but I was hoping that someone actually knows what exactly does that weird message means..
