Wow, what an awesome weekend. And what's better I was allowed in the flight line, to go anywhere I wanted, so I could get up close and personal to the planes http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I got a 15 minute ride in that L-39 you have pics of a couple of years ago with a ex-RAAF Roulettes pilot at the stick http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. Absolutely jaw dropping http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif, he put me through all the maneouvers I knew, so I didn't and even let me have the stick to perform a couple of turns, rolls a loop and a (very wobbly) Immelman http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif. It was at that point I got hooked on aviation! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif Sounds good, looks like you owe that bloke a beer http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I'd love to go in the Albatros, but it bloody costs $1800 for half an hour, so I'm gonna hafta start saving up methinks http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif Woulnd't mind flying the 'Stang too, jumped into the pits of both (and the Nanchangs and Texan) at Jandakot last year; they're all part of the company Fighter Combat International, got to go thanks to cadets. The founder's an ex-77 Sqn pilot; flew Herc's for 20 years, good bloke.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif Bugger!!! There were PC-9's at Cunderdin, forgot to get a shot of em! Left my camera back at the Agricultural College http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif but talked to the pilot, gave me some good advice

actually the albatross costs $650 for 30 min joyflight , the mustang is $2100 for 30 mins. Just to let everyone know that particular mustang was restored and painted in Major Willam A. Shomo's colours , who shot down 7 Japanese fighters ,on 11 Jan 1945 .

HotelBushranger with all those pics u didn;t sit in the pit ?? :P

Really wish the stang had the throttle wide open cos man that merlin was sex when it fired up. I'll upload some video footage and the pic of me sitting in the pit :P

Nooo? Haven't heard anything bout a new uniform.

And also, my props aren't too high, they're in the centre of the V on the back of the rank slides. Don't tell me what to do, CADET! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>actually the albatross costs $650 for 30 min joyflight <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

You absolutely sure? I talked to the founder and he said 1800 for half an hour and 3600 for a full hour

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif Yeah mate I did, last year when it was back at the hangar. When you jump into the pilots seat, you really realise how bl00dy HUGE that thing is!

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif The slipstream is enormous, love watching the crowd get pushed back when that baby starts up, and hearing the hiiigh pitch scream of the Albatros gearin up

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> I did and took lots of footage of the flyby's <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

The price depends on what type of flight you want to do. There is the basic joyflight, the aerobatics routine or a simulated ground pounding mission. Also I think the full package (ie joy, aero and ground) costs around 3500 and lasts for well over an hour. I actually didn't have to pay anything as I was 17 at the time and the owner owed my uncles some (large) favours.

The bloke that owns the L39 also has a pair of ex-Desert Storm US Marine Corps AH-1s that he is having restored to flying condition (or was when I was last at his hangar). Technically the Marine Crops still owns the birds though but somehow he got his hands on them http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif.

Nice set of photos.
But curious why not spend five minutes and resize them for viewing on something that isn't a wide screen? Never could understand why people post photos this large, no sense in it if you have to scroll horizontally to see it, you never get to see the picture all at once.
Not to mention yu would get more views if it didn't take 30 minutes to load the page http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Have you tried Ifranview, you can resize photos quick and easy, they only resize larger if you want them larger, 800X600 is a good size for a forum http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Lol I already use Irfanview.

Righto, the Albatros, Mustang and Nanchang pics have been resized, took me more than an hour http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

Will resize all the pics bit by bit, lol there's too many to do in one sitting

Cheers
