Having just got shot down twice (nothing unusual) - but at least I sometimes see them... the Tempest has VERY poor rear visibility with that big seat back!

Shift-F1...I think thats the key. Moves you forward and back. Visbility is poor but it is on most or all of the bubble canopy aircraft. The real pilots would lean around the armor plate...and have a look out the side back towards the tail.

Since there is no 6DOF yet...not possible. Next generation of games.

The head armour looks small in this image compared to what I see in the game.

http://user.tninet.se/~yct679b/detailcockpit-1.jpg Your head is in a fixed position in-game, pretty close to the plate. So it will look really big. Kinda like bringing your hand up to your nose - blocks a lot of view, right?

Also not that the canopy in the illustration is raised. If it was shown closed, that rear armor would look bigger.

I think your PoV turns on a point in game, where as your eyes are on the front of your face, so turn left and your PoV moves three inches or more to the left if you get what I mean. Additionally, of course, if you were really in there you'd just lean around the plate for a look and hope you didn't get a face full of 20mm.

Funnily enough, the Mossie pilot's PoV is centred to the right of the pilot's seat which works out quite nicely.

Tthe Typhoon had armor that stretched all the way from one side of the cannopy to the other. When pilots complained Sydney Cam told them that the Typhoon is so fast that they dont need to look back anyway http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. Pf, developers http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. After which he proceeded to reduce the size of the armor in the Tempest http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
