To those that fly the spit, what is the view setting that you prefer to fire with. Do you prefer the zoom view, normal view or a more zoomed out view. Could you post your view numbers that you like ti fire in when dogfighting, thanks. I ask because i have a hard time with the view out the front, those large bars can hinder my firing alot so im curious.

Dont see whats so funny mate, i fly the 190 exclusively and yes i have heard all about the bar stuff but after 3 and a half years in it it doesnt even phase me, when i fly the spit those BARS are covering the screen and it is difficult for me to get a good shot on moving targets. Give me an answewr or dont reply, im tired of reading uselees **** like this on these forums.

I fly the spit online in a coop with my brother. We have an online campaign going flying Spitfire MK5b. After many missions in the spit, I found flying in 'normal' view to be the best in cruise flight, 'expanded' zoomed out view good for takeoff and landing (gives you more peripheral vision to judge hight above the runway), and normal view but 'shift F1' to gunsite view for dogfighting to be the best.

These are just my preferances, but they work for me.

It's especially the arced frame at the front that causes me difficulty. I just use wide view and try to use the rudder to shift it away when needed. Until we have a lean feature in our views I don't think there will be a solution to that.

Twisted joke played on Spitfire flyers. A bit of 190 pain was dealt out to the poor Brit types. In Olegster land:

109 front is better than Spitfire and the rear is equal, and also the 109 rear view is equal to P51 and better than bubble canopy Tempest and P47.

Yeaaaaah, that's realism.

Tell me how these are remotely like what we have in oleg land:

the FW-190 had superior view all round , including foward to the Spitfire , so says eric brown

basically , Spitfires in FB have better view all round compared to their RL counterparts

Map Shift-F1 to your joystick as well as wide/normal view so that you can toggle between them at will. That makes looking around crossbars, beams and peeking out the backside of your plane a lot easier (and more effective) once you get used to flipping back and forth pretty quickly.

Also, if you have a track IR, and are looking around in wide view, I think you get a slight improvement in viewable area as the fisheye lens shrinks down the cross section of those bars a little bit. Could be wrong, but the perception is there at any rate. With the Shift-F1 toggle, it's never really been a big deal for me. I lock down the gunsight when I'm going for a kill but most of the time I'm flying around in "float" view (shift-F1) for the improved field of view it offers.

Best,

~T.

I don€t have any complaints about the view from the spit, apart from the nose being too narrow (it looks odd) just use your zoom views and life is good.

I also have no complaints about the FW other than that bloody bar.
