I've got a somewhat older machine (socket 939 AMD 3200+ 2GB ram) that until yesterday had an EVGA 7600GT card (earlier had a 6600GT that died of overclockitis) Recently saw advertised on geeks.com an aopen Geforce 7950GT card for ca. $40. With a 10 percent discount my entire order (incl. shipping) was $40. Now, all you get is the card and a driver disc, no instructions, adaptors etc. Good thing I had a free 6-pin plug on my PSU. Installed it last night, reinstalled my drivers (the ones I was using with the 7600GT) and it works fine. GPU-Z verified it as a 7950GT with the correct specs--it has 256MB of memory, not 512MB like a lot of them had. My gamma looks a little lighter than the older card's, but I can adjust it. So far so good.

Congrats ,thats about the point in graphics card development when IL2 stopped getting any faster in frames per second certainly at 'normal' resolution...An X1950 or 7900 is good enough for ANY IL2 only fan -any further upgrade money os best spent on the CPU speed...of course I guess most play other games...
