I'm sure it happens on less than perfect water also, I only did this to test the perfect mode. 25fps is an improvement over the 10 I was getting.

yeah but you average is 23, and your max is 75. Which means your dropping in the teens at times. That's the problem with perfect. It's hard to get high fps all the time.

You can get it in non perfect too. You just don`t see perfect riply effect of water, but wake is there...

Not that hard /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif I rarely drop less than 30 unless the server really sucks, then its anybodies guess.

Yep. It's actually pretty stable near 25 now. The high of 75 (my vsync limit) seems to pop in when the QMB mission starts, and the frames slow down by at least 30% when I fire my guns for the first time in a mission. (This happens even on mid settings.) Strange. Once it slows that first time, all the other gunfire is at normal fps. Must be a sound loading issue.

You never go under 30fps on perfect setting? What reolution, and how much fsaa?

What I won't do is give up picture quality for pretty water. When I run 1600 res and 4Xfsaa. It looks like I want it to. Clear and no jaggies. If I can then run all excellent settings plus perfect setting, and never get less than 30 fps on any map or any condition. Then i'll keep perfect turned on. I've never been able to do that with the latest hardware available.

Run your settings that you use, and run the Black Death track. Tell me you never go under 30 fps there.

I ran at 1024x768x32 no FSAA, and 8X AF enabled. I can run about the same speed at 1280x960x32. I don't run the FSAA for two reasons. Firstly, it kills my GeForce Ti4200. At 2X or Quincunx mode, it's only a 20% drop or so, at 4X or 4XS (DX mode) I'll see a 70% or more decrease.

The second reason is my vision. Not too good, and the FSAA tends to make the far away dots harder to see by blurring them slightly. The higher contrast of the 'jaggy' image is a help in my case. FSAA does look great though... if I squint! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
