slo that game is ok...but the new version has better graphics.. dont get me wrong a couple of years ago battlefield 1942 was the S#!t.
there is still a pretty good community that plays it they have this mod out called forgotten hope.. makes the game more realistic.

The new game is battlefield 2, it was also recently released for xbox and ps2.

If the game is cheap get it.. also only buy it if u play online. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

My clan play IL2 and Battlefield 2, amongst a load of other things. BF2 is very immersive, especially on the ranked servers, where you can earn promotions and unlock additional weapons. A new add-on has just been released, Battlefield 2 Special Forces, which includes the British SAS. It's on all of our Christmas lists. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

The BlitzPigs play BF2 and the SpecOps addon for it a lot. It is a lot of fun, but "immersive" it isn't. It's totally innacurate weapons modeling, laughable "flight" models, and all the "bunny hopping" 12 year olds take care of any chance of it being immersive.

BF2 desperately needs a realism mod. As it stands now it is just a fun shoot 'em up to pass the time between sorties in FB/AEP/PF.
