Where is it better to put the stick. In the center to align it with the roll axis or on the right, to prevent your wrist from making uncomfortable twist ?

Other question : The HOTAS cougar is a copy of F16 HOTAS which means that the stick (on the right side) is designed to be grabbed without twisting your wrist. Is the design flexible enough to allow a central position without having problems with the shape of the stick which is not designed to be grabbed in this way, or is it acceptable ?

I think most gaming joysticks are designed for use "on the side", they are rather side-sticks. The pivot point is just too near to your hand, and the chances are high that you will strain it if you position it in the middle.

Some customized long sticks however, can work neatly in the middle, just like the real thing.
