Flying the P-38 against zero's allot. And seem to be able to Zoom climb, better than me. on average, vetran and ace. COuld the zero realy outclimb the P-38 or is this a fault with the game. I saw one that must have been doing aprox 300-400kmh climb aprox 3000m it was crazy.

300 km/h is more sustained climb territory, not zoom. WW2 prop fighters generally had best climb at around 150mph IAS +- a bit. 150's a good rule of thumb, although you need to read the pilot's notes for the best speeds. I might look up some examples later. P-38L sustained climb was among the best in during WW2, though, (~4000 ft/min although this varies with altitude, as for Tempest, Spitfire, 109K4). P38J was a bit less spectacular. Not sure what the A6Ms climb was (will also depend on model).

AI is exceptionally good at zoom climbing. Don't bother with zoom climbing versus AI, even though you know your plane climbs better.

Unless you have a massive energy advantage off course.
