So... you are manning the gun position inside your bomber, your aircraft gets under attack and your pilot is dead.

So you think you are gonna die too... well that's not neccessarily true now, I was amazed to see that I can now actually bail out from the aircraft when my pilot is dead.

For those who are puzzled what I'm mumbling about, I'll just say that in previous game incarnations if you man some position other than pilots' you couldn't bail from the aircraft if the pilot is dead.

Nice touch, TD! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Can you bail out while the pilot is still alive? I must admit there have been occasions I'd have liked to. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Hehe yeah, every man for himself http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif .

@Andy : I don't think so, I was unable to do so.
After all pilot is the chief in his plane, no one do anything without his permission http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif .

There have been times in coops when I was very tempted to do just that.

...ack... I was in the nose gunner position-in that co-op, you were in that I-16? By the time we took off, one of the gunners had #2 smoking "accidentally" he wanted to see if his guns worked..tail gunner had emptied all his ammo out the back..

I was in the I-153 Dawg. I remember you being upset on comms as your gunners wasted all their ammo on the ground.

Coops with strangers can be so, um, interesting.

I remember being in a coop many years ago hooked up to a TB-3 in an I-16 on one of those trapeze devices and what I remember is that when the "baddies" arrived I was supposed to unhook and and protect the bomber and escort it to its target. Unfortunately, I forgot to map a key to drop from the beast and as a result of not being able to protect my TB3 pilot and bombing crew they were all destroyed from the onslaught of eager fighters. It was a sickening feeling just sitting there watching the whole mess while I had both thumbs up my arse not being able to do a damn thing..
