The only way to make BoB a true and credible simulation and not just another arcadish game is to limit the map and time frame to BoB proper only. June to October 1940. And to do an accurate research down to the individual aircraft, on a specific day, what aircraft participated in what unit, taking of from what air field, with whom in the cockpit? The map must be accurate to the meter with non generic buildings and damage inflicted during the game must remain or be repaired in a realistic time. Weather as it was and cut scenes with news and footage from that day.Stretching the available computer technology of 2005 to the limit!

In short a technical milestone and a historical documentation for the 65 year anniversary of BoB!

The word "game" is not to be seen in the announcement of the new simulator.
And it's a dirty word to some of us!/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif What the BoB sim will be like is up to 1C. This is only my personal view, not necessary yours OR 1C`s

From Home Page:
On the occasion of the ECFSS, which took place on Sunday Oct. 6th in Birmingham, Ubisoft and 1C:Maddox Games announced their new publishing deal which includes a brand new WWII flight sim based on the Battle of Britain and an expansion pack for IL-2 Sturmovik : Forgotten Battles.

The Battle of Britain (working title), following in the steps of IL-2, will be packed with even more historical realism and will use a new engine, a dynamic campaign system and new weather effects. It will take place in 1940 during the Battle of Britain and will allow players to fly for the British, German or Italian air forces.
