I found Red Scorpion. It's a historic account of a US submarine in the pacific war. No spoiler. Is it a good book?

what good book there is on US WWII submarine history?

"War Beneath the Sea" by Peter Padfield - Amazon have it (http://www.amazon.com/War-Beneath-Sea-Submarine-Conflict/dp/0471249459) - covers ALL areas of WW2 submarine warfare, by all sides, and gives a factual account without going into Gung-ho territory.

One particularly about the Pacific submarine war I discovered, but haven't read, would be (from the reviews) Submarine Diary: The Silent Stalking of Japan (http://www.amazon.com/Submarine-Diary-Silent-Stalking-Japan/dp/1557505829/ref=pd_bxgy_b_text_b/102-1394716-3896957). Around $13. Must be plenty more out there - Google or Amazon search finds lots.

Kitt - I started a thread with some SH4 reading Here (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/857101043/m/5881069035?r=5141024135#5141024135)
that might help you. I have to admit I spent a fortune on U-Boat books, and loved every one of them. I'd personally be grateful for any recommendations too for SH4 themed reading.

I just picked one up from the local library...

"Thunder Below!"
The USS Barb revolutionizes submarine warfare in World War II, by Admiral Eugene Fluckey

I'm 100 pages into it and so far it's one of the best I've read.

I'm into page 124(out of 530). USS Rasher(the red scorpion) just sank her second victim. It's a cargo ship off Ambon. She dived to avoid depth charges from the escorts.
