I have pre-ordered the Asus HD 5870 graphics card with the new DX11 Dirt 2 game included & I also pre-ordered Assassins Creed 2. Both are due for delivery in November 2009 and I cannot wait to play Assassins Creed 2 in beautiful DX11!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

With DX11 we can finally get rid of all those jaggedly edges and have true round objects and smooth bends. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I bought and played the first Assassins Creed in April 2008 for my then 4 month old DX10.1 ATI graphics card because Assassins Creed was a DX10.1 game and the lighting effects difference was unreal and made it so beautiful! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/inlove.gif

But hang on a sec! What is going on here as Assassins Creed 2 is not listed as a DX11 on Wikipedia! WTF!!!! List of games with DirectX 11 support (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_with_DirectX_11_support)

I think I had better quickly cancel my Assassins Creed 2 pre-order!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

I dont want second-hand old crap!

I assume you're getting AC2 for the PC. regrettably, that version of the game is being delayed for March 2010.

Ninjas are ancient oriental assassin's which date back to feudal japan. They were contracted to kill political or military adversaries. They would plan how to kill their target for months prior to the actual assassination. They are a very interesting historical topic to study so I reccomend to commence your own prsonal research in them. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Thanks for the replies.

I really donít mind waiting until 2010 as long as the game is DX11 so that we can gain from all the marvellous new inventions in DX11 and that they donít stop toughly checking the PC game for bugs while they have the extra time. I am sure the majority of people would love to have a fantastic game in 6 months rather than having a crap game now.
I will not cancel my pre-order for Assassins Creed 2 and keep my ear to the ground for any news.
I think it is highly likely that they are delaying the game for Nvidia so they can catch up and release their new DX10.1 cards. It is not a joke when they say Nvidia is about two years behind in time. They have lost their majority in new card sales for over two years now. RIP Nvidia! I think the Nvidia ship is sinking!!!

In forum-speak, ninja posts are posts made while another user is posting in the same thread, often within seconds of each other.

Yeah, sorry if you haven't gotten the news of the PC version delay...

edit: WTF, I got ninja'd when talking about ninja posts http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

nvidia aren't actually bothering with DX10.1 and they had no intention in it as the minor change wasn't enough to warrant people buying a new card. (that is why they chose to concentrate on multiple GPU applications instead of a basic graphics card)

as for DX11 support it is pointless actually brining it in when the majority of people cant even use DX10 yet http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif look how few games were actually made with DX10 support over the last couple of years and you will realise how few people will actualy use DX11. (seriously why make a games graphics engine 3 times? DX10 isn't standard yet and probably never will be and by the time DX11 become standard/commonly used AC3 will probably be long gone.)

Nearly everyone without Vista is now using Windows 7 RC1 which has DX11.

List of games with DirectX 10.1 support (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_with_DirectX_10_support)

Windows 7 has been recieved well and will be bigger than XP. I can see DX11 being like DX9 was and becoming main stream very soon.

Or instead of having to wait for the game, and bothering with graphics cards, you could buy a xbox or ps3...... if you were smart.

Braxto, if you have something useful to add to the discussion, do so - otherwise refrain from making such unnecessary comments.

Edit: actually this applies from now on for you. (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5251069024/m/2381055297?r=4941009297#4941009297)
