View Full Version : Good location for an Assassin's Creed II expansion

I'd like to suggest Genoa (Genova) as a possible location for an "Assassin's Creed II" expansion, maybe even for Brotherhood.
Here's the link to the Wikipedia article:

First of all, Genova today has THE BIGGEST old center in all of Europe (Genova is also a European Capital of Culture) and one of the most suited for the assassin's work: tight streets and tall buildings. Moreover the layout of the streets is very special, in fact they are zig-zagged on purpose to make the viewing range shorter: this was very useful during family feuds (which were VERY frequent) because the nobles could easily run away through the intricate net of streets quickly losing sight of the enemy.

Genova also used to have quite a few towers, but these were torn by the Doge to quiet down a little the power struggles between families. Originally only the Torre Embriaco was supposed to remain standing because it had the best (strategic) view over the sea (and because the Embriaco were one of the strongest families):

Genova was also very powerful: it rivaled with Venezia and hear this: the ENGLISH paid Genova for being allowed to use the flag of st. George which happens to be the flag of Genova as well (you can verify this here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_George%27s_Cross).

Genova was also a fairly large templar center: let's not forget that the only siege to EVER conquer Jerusalem during a crusade was led by Guglielmo Embriaco, a commander from Genova:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S...f_Jerusalem_%281099% (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Jerusalem_%281099%)

Finally, there are many people of importance who came from Genova: Guglielmo Embriaco conquered Jerusalem (apple of eden?); Christopher Columbus discovered America (apple?); Garibaldi sailed from Genova to begin the unification of Italy (apple?)...

Plus I always wanted to climb up there...

Of course I am not impartial since I am myself genovese, but I really think Genova would be a most wonderful location for Assassin's Creed! I've been thinking this since I heard Assassin's Creed 2 was going to be set in Italy... Then I bought the game (I had already fallen in love with the first), I loved the game, and now I can't wait to receive Brotherhood (which I have already pre-ordered)...

What do you think? Could Genova be a good location or not?
