S! all,

Does your squad prefer to fly with as much Immersion as this sim can give you? I€m talking about Full Real settings (Full Switch €" all, or almost all switches in game turned on)? Do you wish there was a place to meet like minded squads? Or, have you and your squad thought about giving these settings a try? If you€ve answered Yes to any of these then you will want to come check out the fast growing new community for FR squads €" Full Immersion Squadron Community (F.I.S.C.). This is a clearing house of like minded squads where events between such can be coordinated easily. No more trying to find another squad in your time zone that flies with these settings. They€re all coming to FISC.

Not really. We don't fly full realism, we don't care for it.

So when you get killed, what do you do? Hari Kari? Or just hit Refly?? LOL.

I think you miss the point. It's not about the settings. It's about the community. By all means, feel free to start/join a "wonder woman" community, or a "I like icons on" community, or a "only cr*p planes" community.

What do I mean by community and why should you join one?

For those of you who don't know, the CO of the Fallen Angels, and one of the originators of the F.I.S.C.--FA_Intruder--recently passed away. A memorial service was held on Hyperlobby. Over 100 people--most of whom had never met him--gathered to remember him. His online obituary and guestbook boasts 4 pages of sincere, heartfealt condolences from every corner of the globe. In his waning years, Intruder was confined to a wheelchair: isolated from most forms of personal contact. His family has told us that they are overwhelmed by the outpouring of emotion demonstrated by the online community, and are comforted knowing that he had so many "friends" keeping him company in his last days.

To some of us, this "game" is much more than a passtime, it's a reflection of us as human beings. Intruder's vision of a close knit "family" of online pilots is being carried on admiribly by Dart. If any of this makes sense to you, consider visiting the F.I.S.C. forum and see what this is all about.

If not, pursue the aspect of the game that you find most engaging. We won't belittle you for it or treat you with any less honor or dignity. That is not why "we" play the game.

No call for a realism dabate here foxfire1941, just an invitation to take a look at a community of squads. Obviously, FISC is not for you.

Thank-you for your bump.

With the increasing (and well deserved) popularity of the Scorched Earth utility, squad vs squad wars are now, more than ever, an extremely immersive experience. The FISC community has several squads involved in SE wars, and for those other squads in search of a worthy opponent, this thread might just lead them to the right place.

GOZR has done a great job and an invaluable, enthusiastic community resource for online competitions. His website is here: http://www.gozr.net/iocl/index.php and while not completely 'full-switch' he has 2 servers. One (IOCL server) is more 'hard core' with more difficult settings and the other (HISTORIA) is a place for historical missions AND skins with skin DL turned on.

I've always enjoyed my time on the FISC servers and can strongly recommend them to anyone who likes those settings. They typically tend to attract the better pilots and squads with only a few exceptions and have a secure foothold in the online competition aspect which, if you've never done it, is easily the MOST FUN I've had in this sim.
