I know this has probably been done many times before, but I'm not seeing it in the first 5 pages, so here we go.

My story is unique in that it follows none of the criteria mentioned in the title. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I was flying Jane's WW2 Fighters at a friend's house, and it was Spitfire IXs vs. Fw190s, me being a Spitfire IX. There was only 3 Fw190s, me, and my wingman left. The other two had run out of fuel and were running, but one was quite close to me. He dived to gain speed to get away from me, so I made a little dive to get enough speed to be close when he came up.

He doesn't keep flying a ground level, and was maybe expecting me to keep diving, for he came up at almost a 90 degree angle. I lined up a perfect deflection shot, me being only 0.16km in front when he came up. As he came up, it went almost slow motion, and I prepare to depress the tab button (friend's joystick didn't work), when BOOOM!

It turns out my wingman didn't follow me on the little dive I made, saw the Fw190 coming up, and dived for him to make a head-on pass. Just as I was going to make the perfect deflection shot, my wingman collided into the top of my plane with his nose, his wingspan matching mine, completely obliterating his plane, and tearing everying but the tail off mine. There was no way I was pulling out of this one, so, disgruntled that I missed the perfect shot because of my wingman who was now dead, I drove my plane into the ground and failed the mission.

GAH!

My best was actually downing a plane while in a spin... Offline. The other plane sort of got in the way - so I got very tense, and pulled the trigger, only to see the plane in pieces my next time around...
Yeah.. I recovered..

My favorite has to be my second online kill - A Spitfire was above my P-40, and I believe he had gotten some shots into me. I pulled up, and as he flew over I let loose with my .50 calibers... Scratch one Spitfire. Of course, as I had practically no energy after that, and the preceding maneuvers, I dropped to the ground like a rock. A very explosive rock.

I was still very pleased. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

On a coop, I had landed my Betty with a burning engine then one my squad mates landed theirs, taxied next to mine and pulled a sharp differential turn such that his engine thrust blew out the fire of my burning engine. Sorry, no track file nor screenshot. S!

I've seen some of the low flyer stories before, and they are awesome. Thanks for the link.

New Story!

I was playing the demo, me in the extremely versatile, fast, and newbie-friendly plane, the La-5FN!

It was 4 La-5's vs. 4 Me-109's.

Clear, 12:00am, 500 feet start.

I started the mission. Told Red 3 and 4 to get the enemy fighters, told my wingman to rejoin and cover me, and we both climbed to about 650 feet (150 feet above enemy 109's).

The 109's saw us above, tried to climb to turn into us, and I got a good burst in the fuselage of a 109 in the head on pass that followed.

I was able to turn into 109 after 109, head on pass after head on pass, and then follow them by raising my flaps and hitting the WEP. Did that to the first one that went by me, as he climbed to get Red 3, so he lost all his speed. I turned inside of him, Red 3 dived, and the 109 was left out to dry. I shot a burst in his cockpit, and down he went. Scatch one 109.

Then I proceeded to make about 4 or 5 head on passes in a row, when finally, I found my mark on one head on pass and got a good hit in the 109's engine. I lowered my flaps, and starting following him, saving my WEP til later.

I hadn't realized how much ammo I spent, so when he started climbing, I barreled my lead into him, but he just wouldn't go down! He was hit in the tail twice, the right wing once, and the top of the fuselage twice.

Then, *click* *click* *click*.

I was out of ammo.

The plane was still going slow, my engine hit must've jostled something around in there, so I came up with a plan.

I hit the WEP, raised flaps, and hoped for the best, and he was going straight north right ontop of the city.

As I closed in on him, I was going way too fast, so in my panic I dropped the throttle a ton and fell way back behind him, but still within 0.25km.

Hitting the WEP again, I raised flaps and went after him for one more shot, as his wingman was gaining by inches behind me.

After being about 0.1km behind him, I hit combat flaps. He started rocking up and down, trying to signal something, when

I executed the perfect prop saw, slicing off his entire back end of his plane. He went down over the city, thankfully not into a comrade's house, but in a small, unoccupied park.

I proceeded to raise flaps and dive, buzzing my comrade's over the town, then calling Red 2 and 3 back home to base (Red 4 was shot down, and bailed out west of the town).

Mission Success!

One La-5 was shot down (pilot was okay), 3 Me-109's were shot down, each of the three crashed Me-109 pilots died (one shot in cockpit, one did not bail out, the other bailed out 50 feet above the coast and did not survive.

I claim two Me-109's. Red 3 claims one Me-109.

Fine, fine, if you insist...

But what's this? That's not the test pilot... Nathaniel Hawkins strikes again!

Too late! Several lucky hits puts our hero out of action...

Once I was (offline) in a Finnish Buffalo, trying to take down some of those lumbering Russian Tupolev TB bombers...I made a pass, hit one some but not enough to take him out, then as I tried to break away and make another pass I whacked the tip of his wing with mine, knocking his off and sending him into a doomed spin, and knocking the tip of mine off...my AI wingmates said "bail out!" but I could still fly fine, and went on to land easily...
