That shot was taken online. I am running a BFG 7900GS OC.

Water = 4.

Perfect settings.

1024x768x32.

4xAA, 8xAniso.

Depending on map, aircraft flown, and weather conditions my FPS range from High 40s to 100+, but 60 would be a good average.

thanx for the post, looks amazing cant wait till i get my comp http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif would running the game at a higher resolution and lower AA or AF, will this give you good frames and knock of thoes jagged edges?

Higher resolution will get make the edges less jagged. AF is just for the ground textures, higher AF means the ground look much better.

3 Gig P4, 2 gigs of Mushkin Level 1 PC3200 ram.

ElAurens, do you experience much in the way of screen freezes while playing online? I'm also looking to build a new rig and wondering if people with higher end PCs also experience freezes while playing online.

If so, on average how long do they last for you?

I still get spawn freezes like everyone else, but otherwise things seem to run smoothly. Remember that spawn freezes are pretty much "normal" even if all the flyable planes on a map are pre positioned. I tend not to fly on too many servers that don't allow skin download. I have 12.3 gigabytes of skins, and I think they are one of the compelling things about the game.

My machine is hardly high end anymore.

Hello,I was in a CompUSA that is going out of buisness and saw/bought aNvidia BFG 7900gs OC 512mb DDR2 for $119.00 +tx,I have a 6800gt in my rig now, will I see a noticeable difference if I install the 7900gs?I thought it was a good deal so I bought it since my 6800gt is over 3 yrs old.

I upgraded from a 6800 ULtra to a 7950GT and gained about 10fps, but the image quality seemed quite a bit better and I can run with more anti-aliasing. I'm thinking that going from a 6800GT to a 7900GS will have a similar result, as long as your CPU and RAM can keep up. I think my Athlon 64 4000+ and PC-3200 RAM have now become my bottlenecks.

Thanks for the tip! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gifI think I'm due for a RAM upgrade.

ElAurens, could you tell us what settings in Il-2 and Nvidia Control Panel and what drivers are you ising?

I've just upgraded my PC to P4 3.0 Ghz with Nvidia 7900 GShttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif and 2 GB RAM.

Can't figure the right settings, though. I have to run at 1280x1024 as this is the native res of my LCD.

Best regards

Maciej

FI_Macca44,

If your monitor has internal scaling, you may be able to run at a lowered resolution without any image degradation (i.e. stretching, bleeding etc,..) I'd suggest trying to run it at 1024x768 and turn your antialiasing up starting at 2x. Your performance and IQ will still be excellent and you'll have better FPS. Also, do it without ANY anisotropic filtering to start with as well. AF carries a considerable performance hit if your other components aren't up to the task (see below re: your processor).

I'm using a 20.1" monitor with a native res of 1600x1200 but run it scaled to 1280x960 with absolutely no loss in IQ or performance.

I see you just upgraded to a 3.0Ghz processor, but it looks like that will still be your bottleneck. 3 Ghz will run this sim just fine, but in the older P4 northwood and even the Pentium D, it was considered a minimum decent proc speed to run with good IQ and FPS.

Good luck mate.

Those Hurricane skins are fantastic, really set the picture off.
