Dug in artilery was very common target for ground pounders in WWII.Is it possible to have them in FB?

Grab a bunch of guys with shovels. Dig a circular hole that's a meter to a meter and a half deep (depending on the gun and is a meter or so longer than the trails.

Lay the gun in the center of the hole. You can actually put stakes around the sides with the deflection marked on them to aid in rough aiming of the gun (assuming it's towed, which almost all Field Artillery was in WWII).

It protects not only the gun but the crew from counter battery fire.

It also lowers the silhouette of the camoflauge netting over the guns as well, making them harder to spot.

One of the episodes in the Band of Brothers miniseries on HBO does a good job of showing a dug in and camoflauged gun battery.
