Well, not intentionally. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

The P51 enroute to the ILA2006 in Berlin, lost it's canopy over Münster. It crashed on the rooftop and damaged it, but nobody was hurt. The British pilot landed safely in Berlin-Tempelhof.

Good to hear all are safe, pilot and civilians... must have been a bit Shakey for the Pilot though.

Apparently he saw the 262 diving down on him and prepared for the worst (alledgedly http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif)

The British pilot may run into some problems. He didn't announce the accident to the air-traffic-controls, nor to the police or any other organization or somebody at the show - not even now, hours after the accident.

A woman was almost hit by the back-part, it seems. She's been treated for shock. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

"That's hand's down the best air-conditioning on a piston engined fighter I've ever seen."

"Dude, where's your canopy?"

Reminds me to one of the first previews of LOMAC. A group of A10 were shown, flying formation and blowing up stuff. It were devs and testers, flying together via LAN (IIRC).

After most praises and thanks, somebody asked. "Hey, is this a graphics problem with one of the A10s? It doesn't have a canopy."

The promt answer:

"No error. He forgot to close the canopy before takeoff and flew the rest of the test-session open."
