With the maps actually becoming a thousands of square miles in BoB will we see some affects of flying on a globe and not just a flat plate like in IL2?

I was thinking magnetic variation, changing True Course, that sort of deal. For a real life pilot this stuff is learned right away however I know for the comp jocks this stuff is Greek but it is realism.

Any word on this?

All for it, but I hope you can "toggle" an AI navigator for your bomber because this "pilot" is hopeless with mathematics!

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/agreepost.gif plus i wouldnt mind seeing a nightsky that represents true constelations, and night flyign with the stars would be killer...

i mean they are making night fighters right? why not also have night navigation http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I understand TK did this with his Third Wire sims WINGS OVER VIETNAM, WINGS OVER EUROPE, and STRIKE FIGHTERS, Haigotron, so it can be done---a little celestial navigation anyone?---will the next hot flight sim accessory be a sextant?

CTRL + A = Astrodome view.
ALT + S = Take Starshot.

Fantastic.
Im a big fan of long flights. I hope at some stage at least this becomes possible.

Delicious, Hanglands! My idea of a good time is going on a long night flight in FS9 in a Plane Design Lanc II through cloud, turbulance, and icing conditions!

Having just moved to doing Prangster's Mossie campaign as my first one (campaign that is) with minimap path off, I'd really like it if in BoB we had a togglable overlay of the map with protractor style compass headings on to reduce the element of guesswork when plotting a heading. 10 degrees out makes a big difference when you're doing DR at 0 feet.

Oh, yeah and a ability to switch between metric and imperial measurements on the maps.

sextant over a compass any day http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Gimme some of that pilotage...

Maybe a big map that comes with the game, oh boy. Its often missed on us simmers that half the battle was finding your way home after!

I got lost a few times in this sim, ran out of fuel http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif I'm sure it was a hard go in rl, if weather moved in
