Yes I remember the old faithful il-2.After so many patches that did the trick with the frame rate and climb of planes and such and so on.My question is the sound in the old il-2 when you could hear the screams of 20mm's and the hefty 37mm from the p-39.

Now in fb you dont hear that..Or at least I dont.Is it my sound card or another patch

here is my sound card: creative SB audigy LS. with the 2.1 or something speakers.

So anyone could help would be great

The sound in FB is different than it was in IL2. I think everyone agrees that IL2 was better.

Real pilots had so much in cockpit noise that they had trouble hearing anything but their own plane. The sound in FB has been adjusted to reflect this. While not necessarily popular with all customers, it is more realistic.....

LO:MAC has so-called "realistic" sounds, and it seems "realistic" might just be code for "awful". It's like space sims that have no sound because you can't hear in a vacuum. Might be realistic, but it's not much fun. I prefer movie like sounds, because it's what I expect and it sounds best. Sparse and time-delayed realistic sounds I find quite jarring and annoying.

I mean, can you imagine if, when you are wounded in the game, it disables itsself for 3 months or so to simulate recovery from your injuries? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif The obsession with realism has to stop somewhere!

Yeah I still hate that lawnmower sound when I do a flyby.
