View Full Version : How do I take off?

This may sound reall stupid, but I just purchased the game and I cannot seem to be able to take off. I put flaps in correct position, I make sure wings are down, I take engine up to full power, and I press B, but the plane doesn't move. Also, there is no text confirmation that the brakes are being released. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

I assume you are talking about taking off from a carrier. In that case, you need to go into your controls menu, and map the " remove chocks" key .
You have to remove the chocks in order to be able to take off from the carrier.

Don't worry, I did the same thing http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

Keep in mind that when yopu are chocked it is like being a ghost plane.. so if you are say on a campaign or online and you land and you want to continue to watch the action if externals are enabled then chock up ASAP.. that way the planes landing after you will pass right through you and not into you.

Hi, and Welcome!

Indeed this sounds real stupid... but also, it sounds very familiar!

-> What d.burnette said (mainly on 'I did the same thing')
-> What Bearcat said

Brakes are applied only while pressing the key down. (It's not a toggle like brakes on, brakes off.) So, that's why there's no text confirmation on it!

Have Fun!
