Hi,

Sorry, but I'm just too curious about this. I know ConViction's going to be released in XBOX360, but will it be released in PC too? And will (UbiSoft) Montreal be the developer of PC version of ConViction, instead of (UbiSoft) Shanghai?

Yes, and most likely.

Since Ubi is trying to have cross platform gameplay with Games for Windows Live and Xbox Live, then the PC and 360 versions need to be pretty much identical.

They confirmed the PC version not to long ago and Montreal is making the whole thing. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I think it is going to be on Vista exclusively. Sigh, means I'm finally going to have to duel boot XP and Vista.

I bet they are aiming for cross-platform experience and I heard in one preview they talked about PC version of SCC. And Apparently I think they mentioned PC version being VISTA, so if they aim for Cross-platform experience it has to be Vista ONLY. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif

Yeah thats what I read also. The only problem is I cant remember where I read it at and/or find the article. I am certain though that they said something about next-gen and Vista being the PC's next version of "next-gen" it is going to be exclusive to Vista.

360 and PC, the requirements for the PC, I haven't a clue, but with all the problems with DA I would guess this will not be much different. First I am clueless on hardware, that is what the hubby is for. But I would guess that it will have to be a PC with the latest and greatest of everything, high end vid card, etc.

MS announced over a year ago that gaming between 360 and PC was in the future, which is one of the primary reasons for Vista. This announcement once again reignited the k/m vs controller war. From what I understand, this is NOT gospel, Endwar is going to be the first one with this capability. When learning this my question on behalf of the PC players is this...will they not be able to play the games if their PC is not equipped with Vista? There's a question for ya! Considering all this, you can't really upgrade, you'll have to buy new. I don't know, like I said, hardware is the hubby's territory.

I think it has something to do with the shaders and Lighting technique they are using. SOmething that can be achieved only on Xbox360 DirectX and DX10.0. But I still say it: LAME

Finally! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I hope it will be confirmed officially that Montreal take the whole project into their hands. If there's any "Shanghai" on the PC version I will only buy the 360 one.

Anyway does this Splinter Cell release will be available for XP? I'm Vista-ready (and has using it since this February http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif ) but I did hear rumor that XP will be a discontinued product, just like the poor Win98. Any idea about this one? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Nope. Shadowrun is the first. It's a very fun game too.http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

That's correct. It resembles (in my opinion) Counter Strike a lot.

Maybe for you but if I want it done right I better do it myself. Hubbie is all thumbs when it comes to building a PC. He can handle a main frame but a PC he has no clue http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

XP wont be discontinued yet for a while, SP3's coming soon.

And if ubi makes SCC vista compatible only they'll only do it to promote vista, NO technical reasons whatsoever.
It's not really likely that ubi will code a dx10 codepath when the 360 is using dx9, it would take a lot of time and would probably mean that the pc version will be delayed just like CT.

The 360/vista interoperability is mostly about vista being able to connect to xbox game lobbies and really has nothing to do with the actual os...

Either way I dont really care, I'm buying my new comp next month and will be converting to vista.
