Greetings all. I'm fairly new at Movie Making and I'm having an on-going battle with VirtualDub. Of course VirtualDub is winning the fight.

Smaller files seem to compress OK but larger files always abort. Additionally, it seems the only CODEC it will accept is XviD MPEG-4 (I havn't tried them all yet).

Specs: Windows XP Pro-Media Edition, P4 3.2GHZ (2MB L2 Cache), 1GB PC-3200 400MHz DDR Mem, 250GB 7200rpm HD, ATI Radeon X300 128MB Vid Card

This is the standard error I get:

Crash reason: Access Violation

Crash context:
An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'xvidcore'......while running thread "Processing" (thread.cpp:150).

Any ideas or suggestions?

I may have fixed the problem. After posting this thread, I found this thread: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/65710358/m/1371096783

I uninstalled the XviD I was using and installed the other. Now I'm able to use different codec's without getting aborts.

Thanks MrVH
