I was flying a P-47 D-22 (The longest day campaign), Since it's a short campaign I decided to use full realistic settings. I was flying the third mission when I got hit by AA. I managed to return to base but when I decreased the engine throttle for landing I realized that it was impossible, I saw the message "Power 0%" so my X-45 was working fine but the engine was still at full power. Finally I shut down the engine and landed gliding but I was really surprise for the damage model.
Did anyone else expierence something similar?

Yes.

You can have both the throttle lever and/or the rpm governor "decoupled" by damage. It's just one of those things that blow me away all the time in this game.

I had my throttle linkage break at 1500 RPM flying downwind for landing at Santa Paula at about 800 feet in Bucker 853N. I was coming down one way or the other--not enough power to maintain altitude and fly someplace else with a bigger, safer runway, and too much power to land. I blipped the engine off and on with the mag switch, and managed to set up a rate of descent. Landed fast and long, but rolled out short of the end of the 2500 foot runway. It took me weeks for my a** to unpucker.

IL-2 much safer.

This has happened to me many times.

The 109 throttle linkage is porked proving that Oleg hates blue. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

For all the times it happens in the game you would think it would pop up more often in WW2 pilot's accounts . . . ah, well . . . http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif
