What's the most impressive thing you've heard from "unofficial sources" about the upcoming big patch (even if they're totally bogus rumors)? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

"The upcoming patch will address all issues that have been whined about assuring that each and every user will have a 100% complete and error free simming experiance, thus leading to the forums being used for the purpose of offering advice, helpful information and guidance. But since there will be nothing to complain about the forums may have to be closed for good becasue once you recieve the "perfect patch" there will be nothing to talk about."

"As an honour to the community, one once-prolific forum poster will be modelled in the game as a lone Japanese pilot, randomly appearing in both off- and online scenarios, giving non-ACEs a hard time by the sheer complexity of his technique. This blend of AI and human represents a step into a new era of simulation."

I heard that a completed copy of BoB will be included in the next patch. I will include a map of the whole globe, including all the people and animals, which you can see when you fly low enough.

They are all based on the people which lived in every house, which are also modelled, and have the same manerisms, and behavioural patterns.

We will also get every plane used in the war included, which goes without saying.

Unfortunatly I hear the geese's FM is slightly out, which is why I won't be downloading it!

nakamura_kenji,

Expect the G4M1 "Betty", CW 21 Demon, and Ki 100 to be released in a "pre patch", that will contain also some FM tweeks and the usual bug fixes, and possibly a surprise or two.

The majority will be in a CD addon...

I'm just saying.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>The CW-21 Demon was a lightweight fighter based on the CW-19R general-purpose monoplane. It was intended primarily for export, with 32 being ordered by China in 1939, and 24 improved versions being ordered by the Netherlands East Indies in 1940. Being inadequately armed and with no worthwhile protection for the pilot, the Demons were fair game for the Japanese fighters they opposed. Ploughman, I had the great fortune to hear a talk given by former AVG member Peter Wright, both he in his talk, and several other Tigers in print have said that the CW 21 was a good aircraft and they really wanted it. Don't blame the CW 21 because a lack of proper maps/navigational aids in China caused the AVG's Demons to go down. It will cause quite a stir in the game, especially online...

Being inadequately armed and with no worthwhile protection for the pilot

they had four browning machineguns with 1000 rounds each and armor behind the cockpit

, the Demons were fair game for the Japanese fighters they opposed.

they were hopelessly outnumbered

Three of the improved Demons (the CW-21B) were sent to the American Volunteer Group in China (the "Flying Tigers")

Wrong they were CW-21s not CW-21Bs

but all three were lost on the ferry flight from Rangoon to Kunming,

when the entire group crashed into a mountain during bad weather.

Wrong

It had to do with dirty petrol

Paris Hilton talks in her sleep...she says "again Heywooood - AGAIN!!"

patch will include self-improvement code to allow constant unaided improvement of all aspects of the flight sim in perpetuity.

patch will gain self-awareness in 2006 and, through LAN connection, assimilate all home and corporate servers by mid 2007....it will continue to learn exponentially and take control of all computer function all over the world by late 2007... Arnold Schwartzenegger will unmask at that time (as President of the US and Terminator) and assume total world domination as was the plan all along.

Frankly you deserve that post. We all know you are angry with the lack of promised content for PF. Hell, half the bloody internet knows you are upset with it. Well, here is a little clue for you. Most of us are upset as well. We paid for it too, we enjoy the sim too, and are anxious to get all the added value we can from and for it.

But, and this is the critical part, we know how things work around here. We know that the missing content will arrive. We understand that there are some extenuating circumstances involved. so, we are (semi) patient about it.
Unlike yourself, who feels it necessary to stomp through thread after thread biatching and moaning about it. It is tiring. You are tiring.

I've editted the offending post and have sent a PM to ElAurens.

To say that I was "all over this thread" is a bit much. I replied on page 3 - the image was on page 2. Some of us do have a life outside PF you know... I missed the image - what do you want - an apology?

It's dealt with.

You will no doubt reply to say you are dissatisfied with my actions or my hair-colour or something...

Who would expect that here. You folks have such a warm way of dealing with people's objections over profanity, or even daring to mention that they believe a cockpit isn't very good.

I label you? Then what's the 'hive?'

I can't recall a 'label' as such - I've stated that your actions make you appear to be a troll rather than someone with a genuine greivance.

If you take that to mean I'm labelling you a troll - then perhaps your guilty conscience has a part to play in that.

If you want to ban me just do it, rather then trying to "fabricate" an excuse such as trolling. In the end am I any different then the "Where's the Beef" thread, people simply having their own opinion and discussing it fairly evenly until those who are protected show up and turn it into a flame war...without fear of recrimination?

As I said, if you want to ban me for having my own opinion, or responding in kind, stop trying to fabricate your excuse with labels.

Official Pacific Fighters Forum Rules of Etiquette

1) Never, ever post anything that can be deemed derogatory unless it is a prefix to the word whiner in which case you can post all the insults and innuendo you wish. Accompanying your attacks on individual thinkers with suitable graphics, the more juvenile the better, is encouraged for the morale of the hive.

2) When referring to the game avoid using certain trigger words such as: disappointed, incomplete, Avenger, when or open source. Approved buzz words are: wonderful, fabulous, best, brilliant, love, awesome, etc. Keep in mind, even a casual comment by a long time poster about the quality of a cockpit can trigger a feeding frenzy.

3) Remember, appropriate subjects for posting include such topics as €œby my Aunt Gertie€s left ear lobe, I love this game€ or, €œIs it just me or are the unclean ones becoming vocal in our hive€ and €œPost everything you love about this game here€. Inappropriate topics include anything that does not heap praise upon the genre.

4) Never ever post the €œG€ word. Not €œGod€, that will only get you flamed for being an over sensitive jerk, I€m speak of the aviation company that starts with the letter €œG€ and represents all that is evil in the world.

5) Remember that some people equate how long you€ve been posting with physical attributes and to them size does matter. Be prepared for comments regarding the length of your€¦posting. (Compensation issues?)

6) The user license agreement between you and the developer when you purchased a copy of this game DID NOT entitle you to have your own opinion.

7) The use of vulgarity is against the rules of conduct. Saying that any 1CMaddox product is in anyway less then perfect is considered vulgar and will result such pleasant admonishments as €œShut the F€"k Up€, which embedded in graphics and posted by one of the royal guard, is not considered vulgar.

8) And always remember: The individual views expressed in this forum do not necessarily represent the views of 1CMaddox, the moderators or the hive mentality of some unquestioning fans, and if they don€t they are subject to heavy ridicule and/or being locked.

Ever heard the saying "You reap what you sew?"

If you want to try and set yourself up as a martyr, then don't be suprised when someone starts banging the nails in.

Why not try changing the attitude of your posting, without changing your views and see if you get a change in the type of response you receive? But be prepared that it'll take a while for anyone to take you seriously. Considering even those that agree with your opinions are telling you to cool it, I would have thought you'd have had a re-think by now.

Attention:
We simply ran out of space on our 2 CDs and had to remove some cockpits for
several flyable aircraft. Free add-on containing these aircraft will be made
available at http://www.pacific-fighters.com for a free download. (Nov 2004)

I'd say that was a fairly neutral post considering absolutely none of it are my words. Of course that generated the pleasant response:

cwojackson....
You are boring and repetitive. Can it.
For everyone else...
The patch will be huge.

And my reply: "Two weeks?"
