01-09-2005, 02:36 PM
Hello Elephant!

No way, I can not and will not drop "The Few". This was just an 'intermission' of sorts until I finish this monster of a movie "The Few".

Hope you like it.

Hello Gentlemen,

Thank you for giving a well reception to my short movie! It made those long nights worth each great comment you make. This is what motivates me in making films http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

FLockzap: Great to know you loved it. About being a famous director....lets see, the wind might blow on correct direction http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

HotelBushranger: Here are some of my previous work that you can check out :

FORGOTTEN HEROES (MOVIE) - 2004 (RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE AS) (http://www.virtualwarcinema.com/Movies/FORGOTTEN%20HEROES%20BY%20THX-1138.wmv)

THE FEW (TRAILER) - 2004 (RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE AS) (http://www.virtualwarcinema.com/Movies/thx1138BOB.wmv)

I have two others but they are not being hosted anywhere at the moment. My first was the 3rd place winner at Ubisoft's IL2 movie contest back in February 2003.

Hope you enjoy them http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

any chance for an avi or mpeg ?

01-10-2005, 03:43 PM
WOW http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif - nice work.

How come these arent on the main site under movies then?

01-10-2005, 05:12 PM
Thanks for the comments!

E5kimo: I made it WMV due the great compresion and quality I can get with it. Most likely willey will convert it to an avi and make it smaller for our 56k brothers. Will keep you posted.

Pauljames01: Do you mean "The Few" and "Forgotten Heroes" ? If so they are at Virtual War Cinema's website! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Check them out while you can!

Spread the word to your friends and family with this promo video!

01-11-2005, 12:42 PM
Good lord! "Forgotten Heroes" almost brought tears to my eyes.

01-11-2005, 01:06 PM
That had to be the biggest tease I have ever seen. Just when it was getting good......... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

01-11-2005, 04:58 PM
Thank you Gentlemen for the kind words.

VF-2_John_Banks: Did not know that "Forgotten Heroes" still moved people so much. This is one of my old films (est. 2003), it was made soon after my 3rd place winner "Fear". The techniques used on those are 'premitive' to what is being used today but it does provoke an emotional response. Glad you liked it.

VBF-83_Hawk: Sorry for the shortness but that is what it was for, make people want more and get the game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Hope it moves people just like it did you! Show it to friends and family http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Great work, NTESLA...

excellent editing and mixing, not to mention the soundtrack...very cool.

01-11-2005, 07:25 PM
Just a tip, because I noticed that the actual in-game portions of the video are a bit choppy -- but if you play back a track at half-speed, you can capture with Fraps at 15fps (for less CPU overhead), and then convert to 30fps later so you'll have full, fluid motion video.

I used to use this method on my old p3 866 and it worked great.

Forgotten Heroes is very emotional! Fantastic feeling, like a real movie in the class of "Thin Red Line". The score is a first class choice! Btw, there i no need for modern techniques to make such a movie. Less is often more!

Is there a link for your movie "Fear"?

01-12-2005, 10:50 AM
excellent movies, some very emotional

Amazing work NTESLA

matter of interest, whats the soundtracker to the first pacific fighter clip?

01-12-2005, 03:37 PM

You can still find "Fear" being hosted at Willey's website. He holds one of the most extensive collections of IL2 movies at his website. At the moment it is down but will post you the URL when it comes back up.

...And I do agree, sometimes less is more http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

StudUK : Thank you for the kind words for my movies. The music is from the "Van Helsing" sound track. The particular track is called "Reunited" composed by Alan Silvestri. I only used half of track since I wanted this short movie to be a promo of sorts for Pacific Fighters and Virtual Movie making!

01-12-2005, 10:51 PM
Niiiiiice movies mate....wouldn't mind a bit more action though http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

**** fine techniques, my brother studies media and television at TAFE (kinda like a tertiary thing in between high school and uni)- he would have been proud lol

Cheers and keep the good work up!

01-13-2005, 04:06 PM
Thank HB for the praise!

Please go ahead and show these movies to your brother and friend! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

01-14-2005, 02:23 AM

Very nice job NTESLA !

I have seen all 3 of your movies and they are all very nicely done.

Couple of comments on your Midway film. Whish it was longer http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I wanted to see more carrier action. It would of been better to leave the Corsair out of that battle, just Wildcats and Buffalos.

Keep them coming http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hello 609IAP_Kahuna,

THanks for the compliment. I know and only noticed at the final rendering of the short movie what big mistake I have made talking about the battle of Midway and having Corsairs flying around. I let inspiration lead the way and took a 36 hr straight from start to finish work load. Did not look at those important historical details. Next time I will take my sweet ol' time as I am doing with "The Few". http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
