After experimenting with the 109, I am very impressed by the change useing manuel prop pitch can produce. (I mean, WOW!) But I'm still an amature, and I would really like to see engine RPM on the speed bar, so I don't have to keep looking at the gauge.

(Looking at instruments is one of the few things that is easyer in realy life then in game. Other things are easyier in game, like dieing.)

So, Can I alter the speed bar to show my rpms?

If not, who would support this as a request?

There is no way to do this at the present, but a suggestion in the Oleg's Ready Room forum may get some attention for future development. I would like to see this feature as well, mostly for the planes that I only fly once in a while, and am awkward about where the gauges are.

No way to change the speed bar.
However, you can choose a view with a "negative zoom", let's say 70-80%. This will let you see all the instruments. Just confgure a couple of keys for standard view and 80% view, then switch between them: for example, 100% while enganging enemies (to better aim), 70-80% while flying normally.

Yet another reason I'm really diggin' my TrackIR. I remapped my HAT switch to the incremental zoom levels so that I can fly with forward view slighly dipped so that I can see my guages and maintain situational awareness of the world outside my cockpit. I have no problem seeing my critical gauges like RPMs, Prop pitch indicator, Temparature, Aritifical Horizon and Altimeter. Once the action starts, I'm focused on outside world and with a subtle dip of my head, I can view gauges and then I can quickly put attention back into the air.
