Hello

This post may also help you out:

http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/9121094645

... and this guide may help you out:

http://files.filefront.com/IL2+Dogfighting+Final39pdf/;12667495;/fileinfo.html

It does not give tips on La7 as an opponent specifically (just drag them above 3300m or so and their performance will start to decrease) but it may help you out.

Remember two weaknesses of Lavochkin fighters:

They suck at altitude.
They can't dive.

Moral of the story: Fight them high and use prolonged dives and zoomclimbs there - and you can easily toy with them in nearly any western (Axis or Allied) fighter.

I've never played online but Tempests are not very maneuverable and the pilot constantly has to fight against stalls when turning...so...seems like getting on their rear and forcing them into a turn battle would be best...

Tips include:

1. Stay high
2. Stay fast
3. Never fly straight for more than 30 seconds
4. Wing with someone whenever you can
5. Plan your escape route whenever possible
6. Don't turn if you can avoid it
7. Learn deflection shooting
8. Don't attack (most) bombers from direct 6
9. Use angles (e.g. slashing attacks) when you can
10. Use a single pass only on ground attack
11. Try to learn a few major planes well.
12. Note down supercharger change heights and mix options and manage the engine (you can always play with the options and watch the engine gauges).
13. Don't fly on max engine power normally - leave that for when you need it so you don't overheat the engine.
14. Learn about zoom and sustained climb and best climb speeds.

fly a detour to the combat area to gain sufficiant altitude.
cruise at 90% throttle and open radiators.
that way your engine will be cool when you reach combat.

fly together with somebody else.

Be a bit lighter with the stick online, esp if you see signs of netlag.
It takes a bit more planning but the speed you save can put you on a higher level than those who do not.
Of course it's the others that do you will have to look out for.
