I created a mission today where i was under attack in the Bay of Biscay by a Catalina and a few Swordfish.
When the Allied aircraft where approaching a FW200 came close to them and began engaging them with its rear gun. The Catalina shot back at it and damaged its Starboard engine. The FW200 Condor shot down a couple of Swordfish before I managed to engage the remainder with my Flak gun.
I then had a few BF109's appear but they didnt engage the Tommy Planes. I think they need to be manouvered in the Mission editor to come close to the enemy aircraft before they will engage.
Has anyone else seen Plane v Plane action?

Interesting. How did you setup the airplanes in the mission editor? If they were flying around I guess they might engage each other.

In the campaign I believe they are always in "one track mind" mode so don't do anything but their main mission. Then again, I've never seen two planes on different sides in the same place in campaign.

Just had a bunch of Swordfish and a Catalina follow the waypoints at 300M high. The waypoint vectored behind the FW200 Condor at roughly the same altitude. I then watched as the Condor fired at the Swordfish and catalina. The Swordfish tried to get on the tail of the Condor but where shot down quickly ( too quickly imho) but the Catalina returned fire on the Condor from around 200 metres to the Starboard and damged the Condor. The Condor flew on and I engaged the Catalina but I never shot it down. He dropped his depth cahrges and circled and came back to try it again. 3 times it missed before an Eboat escort arrived and we pumped it full of lead.
