Thanks Nagual. I had never heard of the runaway prop issue. I can't believe the P-39 would have ever been used for training. A great way to get new pilots killed. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Also, as for bail-out, I thought the Soviets preferred to belly-land if possible. They had instances of pilots hitting their legs on the tail section when attempting to bail.
