View Full Version : I'm glad Ubisoft is brave enough to venture into new territory.

Games like Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow and RSV2 are really nothing more than expansion packs packaged as full games. It's nice to see Ubisoft take some bold steps in new directions with the Clancy name. ConViction, Endwar, and HAWX all look like fresh experiences military game fans can enjoy. Cudos for utilizing your potential instead of generating a quick sequel to get some cash!

Bold? If by bold you mean taking an existing genre and slapping the Tom Clancy name on it to improve sales then yes they are very bold. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Although I wouldn't consider SCPT as an expansion pack, I agree to the rest of your statement. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yeah SCPT was not an expansion pack, it came with an awesome multiplayer component and a new setting.

HAWX looks awesomes in all regards (Not the name of course). Now all they need to do is spend the time to include the things fans really want, like detailed cockpits for all 50 planes http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I'm glad Ubi is putting this out for console and PC. I've been looking all over for flight games and they're a dying breed. Seems to be more going on with consoles than on the PC lately. Maybe this will spark interest in the genre and keep it alive.
There are hardly any new PC flight games out there these days. I just got IL2 and even that's mostly the older original game and expansion packs.

Venture into new territory? Over G Fighters was a Ubisoft title. That game was and still is badass.

Don't forget that Lock On: Modern Air Combat was also an Ubisoft title..
