Man, that Spit is lovely. Is it privately owned or do the RAF still operate it?

What day did the Spit fly TT? I'm not sure if it came over my work place in Groby last week. Something with a meaty engine flew past but before I could get to the window, it had gone http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Anyway, hopefully will get back to doing the repaint job on the An 26 this week as I've had to have a break due to a pulled shoulder. More pictures from me on Thursday. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/typing.gif

Awsome pic of the Spitfire!
And the DC-8.My dad flew these when he was with National Airlines way back when.Went on to Pan-Am and finally ended flying the DC-10 ,then the mighty Boeing 747 towards the end of his carreer.He always said he enjoyed the stretch -8 . :}

Thanks for the pics, Tony. I think that's the Spit I have video of. A DC-8 brought me back from Hawaii. (Mil. trans) I remember it cause it was cramped inside.(went there on a Pan Am 747)....

Hope you are better, it was taken on the 1st of August as it was up on an Airtest in the local area for about 20 mins... you might hear it this friday as well as it is due back here on that day.

I will listen out for it! Shoulder is slowly getting better because I'm testing pressure controllers which require you to just sit still and press buttons. Will try and do some re-painting tomorrow night and post the pictures around midnight.

Sorry to hijack a little, but it's related. I live in the USVI, and we have a regular air freight service down here that still flies DC-3s - Four Star Air Cargo:

I even had the fortune of sitting on the taxi way right next to the runway as one of them was landing not twenty feet away. Pretty cool http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
