The mainstrean don't mind...we really don't. Reverse as much as you like. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yes it is possible. You just have to exceed (dunno english expression) critical density of magnetic field in the opposite direction.

"Yes it is possible. You just have to exceed (dunno english expression) critical density of magnetic field in the opposite direction."

do you mean like atract it with a stronger magnet or puting a coil with current around it?

because i reverse polarity with no coil or magnet close by

ill explain you when i have time how to do it so you can sabotage compases, your foe would end oposite to desired destination

Completely possible, and easily done. All you have to do is apply a much stronger magnet, like neodymium, to one of the poles; just leave the neodymium attached, N-->N, or S-->S vs. your original magnet, and you will often find the original magnet's field completely overwhelmed -- the "N" will become "S" and vice versa. Even after you remove the neodymium.

Hmmmm I wish I had one of these Raaaid compass altering devices when I was in our school orienteering team. It would have been me who won those woolworths vouchers in the 1991 national schools event not the kid from another school in Leeds.......ME I TELL YOU!!!!!

Wear an iron or steel belt buckle and hold the thing next to your stomache.
The thing will point wherever you want.

If that ain't it then document a detailed how-to, post it up and when -others- can do the
same thing you ill get your fame. Remember no fame until others can also.

Yes. But it takes large quantities of mayonaise.

all right here it goes, i think they dont teach this at schools because electric motors work by reversing polarity of an electromagnet, if you can reverse polarity of a permanent magnet you can make a motor out of permanent magnets

the theory is that if you make the pole of a magnet pass exactly by the neutral center of magnetism of another magnet following the poles axe the stronger magnet reverses polarity of the weaker magnet

heres the practice of how to reverse permanently polarity of a compass in one or two seconds with any magnet:

put a pole of the magnet in the bottom of the compas 5mm off center, one point of the needle goes up the other down, move your magnet passing exactly under the axe of the compass, when the point of the needle that was up goes down youll have reversed the poles of the compas, like turning a pullover inside out

hope you have fun with this trick

sometimes can be very tricky, you have to pass the magnet exactly through the compass axe

who told you about the magnets ?
there are no magnets !!
please put the device down and step away from the desk

I think so!
I work with mobille systems and during a job we had our compass reversed.
So, we made a mistake, the antens would be set to N and were positioned for S.

REALLY like this RAAAAID!

nobody posted nothing bad.. and they pretty much agree with your statement, and theory http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/metal.gif

that is how you tackle it! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif now your one TINy step closer to your purpetual engine! and without being ridiculed http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Just make an electrical field near compas.

So you get the needle to reverse by using a magnet. Big surprise.
What happens when you take the magnet away?
You do know that in your 2nd post in this thread you say you can do it without a coil or magnet?

when i take the magnet away it keeps pointing south thats what i meant with no magnet close by

and the reverse could last for ever

the stronger the magnet the easiest to reverse polarity of a compass

the problem is that i cant reverse big magnets

anyway after an hour gogle i found my discovery described but still is very litle known

would be interesting to know what causes spontaneous reversals of compas like locodocs
