Hi ! I would like to highlight the point that the midi musics ingame are quite annoying ... why not using some real and thriling ones to create a real sound ambiance of those times, something like partisan song for Red Army, luftwaffe hymn or Heili Heilo for germans... stuff like that? I've tried to change the musics by myself but simply changing the .wav, keeping the same name does not work http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

To be honest in game music is not really adding to the experience since they didn't have music during flight in those days.

I always turn music off because any form of music during flying is anoying my pants off.

Oh, yeah, realism of simulation... so when playing you only sleep 4 hours a night, don't wash yourself for entire weeks, and the day you lose you'll burn yourself alive, blow your head with a gun or crash your car on a wall at 200mph...http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif
More seriously, that's exactly what I'm saying : the musics are awful ! Being able to use better ones should be a wise programing decision, even just during the menus and main title !

You kind of missed the point there.

Oh well.

You need to reencode whatever song you'd like to replace at the same bitrate and in the same format as the original. I don't recall what it is offhand, but it isn't difficult to check.

And they most likely didn't do this because of licensing costs. You cannot just take a well known piece of music and use it in a commericial product without paying. Would you rather have some authentic music, or would you rather Oleg make do with one less 3D artist (thus leaving us with considerably fewer aircraft)? Maddox Games isn't exactly a huge, rich company that can afford to throw money at problems that don't really effect the game.

Oh yes you're quite right ! But I wonder if such old songs have not fallen under the law of public rights and can freely be used on any purpose by now (with an authorization of the concerned national culture autority, which would surely be of no difficulty for a game like that one)... But maybe the period of public right appliance is longer than I though or doesn't apply in the same way in all countries http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif
