View Full Version : Has anyone got any good audio samples (mp3,wav) of P-47's and FW-190's in flight?

To say it is hellish trying to find some is an understatement.

Although I will make do without if I have to, I am looking for some good audio samples highlighting the P-47's radial engine in flight (flyby and side-by-side (constant engine drone)) and also the same for 190's.

I read that the Wings of Power add-on Thunderbolt for MFS2004 has some amazing audio.

Has anyone got this and could record sounds from it?

Has anyone got any that they would like to share with me?

Please PM me if you have, thanks (hoping in advance) MP.

Well it's a start. The FW-190 sequence is good though, but really need the same for the P-47.

On a tangent, I understand the 190 was a radial engine, so would it sound similar to the Thunderbolt?

Or failing that, do any other Prop driven planes have a similar sound?

Thanks for the link though, MP.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I just got the WoP add on for FS9... I have the butcher bird also... I might be able to record samples for you... although I'm not sure what copyright laws say about that. But the planes do sound amazing. Also all of the different engines in the add-on sound different...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Back when Shockwave first released the Thunderbolt package, they also had a demo movie that had all the engine sounds included. See if this link works (http://www.gamershell.com/download_10529.shtml).

There were also some movies for the Shcockwave Fw190A ... Check this link (http://www.shockwaveproductions.com/wingsofpower/movies/).

According to Shockwave's own press, the sounds are professionally recorded from actual examples of these planes.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

How is that movie coming along anyway? If it is the one I am thinking of (the historical one) it has been a long time in the making. I will look around for those sounds as well and see what I can scrounge up. Maybe the Mid Atlantic Air Museum has some things I could send you...maybe. I will see what I can do.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I have sound ripped from a fw190 startup, take-off, flyby and landing video. Pretty handy you can see what sound belongs to what scene so to speek.

Where can I host it?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

To be Honest, the film is complete. Everything is ready, and it is at 27 minutes in length, however, I need to add the plane audio to the timeline, for the final render.

To be very honest....I am really pleased with the way it is looking, I really do believe, as it is my last ever movie.....it's not a bad note to go out on!

It is coming....very,very soon.....<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

The audio is all in hand now guys, thanks for taking the time to reply.

Monguse, cheers for the heads up at Historia and also to Direwolfe for his files. Skycat, you to for the link.

mrsiCkstar is on the case, working around all Doppler Shifts (unlike me working through the Night Shifts!) and real audio.

Cheers, MP.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
