View Full Version : AC mini review (german)

There's a GREAT german show about videogames on MTV: Game One. And there's a guy who's being a trainee there right now and he writes about it in his blog everyday.
On the 12th he got to try the PC version of Assassin's Creed and according to him, here's what we should know about it:
Fisrst of all, it took several tries to install it. Once he managed to get the setup running it took veeery long to install(according to him, long enough to play the whole first level on the XBOX) and uses up 10 GB of hard drive space.
He says the graphics are pretty much like on the XBOX version but that somehow he gets the feeling he needs to tick a box here and untick a box there for it to be perfect(which is kinda normal for a computer game in my opinion.) He also complains about the sound, apparently it could've been better. He finally points out that he didn't like playing with a mouse and keyboard and that a gamepad would've been better.
Game One has already chosen Assassin's Creed's PC version as their recommended game of the while(guess it's month but I'm not sure). Looks like it won't be too long until they show actual game footage and a review. Then it should be available on the german MTV site. I'll tell you guys whenever they do it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
If anyone who actually speaks german is interested in the blog entry; go to this (http://www.marctv.de/blog/2008/03/03/prakti****tagebuch_hamburg_2) site, then to "Woche 2", "Tag 8).

The game is around 6.5GB what did he expect? I tried the game and I had no problem at all during the installation. With all the settings to the max, the game look really good. I have to agree with him about the controls, everything have been put on the mouse and take a bit of practice, but it no big deal.

Given the first level takes like 15 minutes to complete he sure is a whiner.

The guy who reviewed it didn't happen to be named Hilary, by any chance? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Then again, let's not forget that he's just a trainee. The actual tester will probably not have the same opinion he does. He was just in charge of playing the game in order to record in-game footage, not to test it.
