View Full Version : I don't understand checkpoints in missions

When doing part of the story line where you have to escort a senator without being detected for 100% sync. Why is it that on reaching the first destination checkpoint marker without being detected, does it not save the state of the game? If I'm detected after this and try to restart from that point, either by allowing the senator to be killed or quitting and reloading it says full sync failed.

Is this a glitch or am I missing something? I've noticed this type of occurrence in other parts of the game. I wish these console games would give you a proper save function rather than checkpoint saves you have no control over.

It's intended to be that way.

Why have checkpoints mid mission if it intends to fail you anyway? Why not just have the destination? Seems weird to me to have intermediate ones with a save at that point only to fail you in the long run.

It would be a bit too easy, if it would work that way, given the frequency of checkpoints...

Yes, it is dumb and confusing. Makes some missions infuriatingly difficult. Hopefully they will change it in a patch eventually.

No...it doesn't make missions difficult...it only makes it difficult to reach 100% sync....and this should be difficult...I know I was frustrated by some of these, too, but I really hope they don't even think about changing it...AC is too easy as it is...

I'm not complaining on the difficulty, I'm just saying it's unnecessary to have intermediate checkpoints that don't serve a purpose, they just confuse matters, hence this post.
