It's the most troublesome plane to get airbourne in my opinion. (Well, it gives me enough grief...) Any tips? I have no probs with the other aircraft, just this wee fella...

My, the P.11 does act odd taking off... It didn't do that before.

Anyway, at 80km/h or so, the wing will dip and drag on the runway. Just use forward-right stick and rudder to re-level wings, and take off.

When you get up its real fun to fly though http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif, too bad not many servers have it in their planesets.

Advance the throttle VERY VERY slowly. Brewster's and I-153's will sometimes do this. I think its IL2's version of the "ground loop" or something. ITs been in there since the early days.

Im not sure but its hard to turn because i think it has a skid instead of a tailwheel.
But its fun when u get up and no one can hit you http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

This holds for the early Polikarpov's too:

Taxiing planes with tail skid - push the stick forward to release that tail.
Pull the stick back to break (slow down).

Take off, start the plane rolling with moderate throttle, 40%
Ease up to 60% to get the tail up, and watch for swing
When the tail is up, and you're settled, go to 100%

Thanks all. It's zigzaggy and lolloping but at last I can do it!
Cheers
