View Full Version : You'll get a laugh out of this, Oleg (as a parent, especially)

Since I watch my little boy (Riyan--pronounced like 'Korean' without the 'Ko') while my fiancee's at work, he saw me playing IL-2 very early on, and likes to sit on my lap and watch the 'movie' tracks that come with the game.

A few weeks ago he started humming what sounded like marching band music. I couldn't figure out where he'd heard it. I was in marching band for a long time, but not since before he was born.

Then when I was opening IL-2 with him on my lap, he started humming it again and I realized what it was.

My son, 20 months old and smart as a whip, has learned AND HUMS the IL-2 theme. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

As a fellow father with a little boy, I thought you'd get a chuckle out of that, Oleg. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif (I suspect IL-2--and maybe me, but I'll deny it--also taught him to make airplane noises and run around with his arms stuck out like wings.)

Out of curiosity, what's the process you folks at the Maddox offices go through to make the 'movie' tracks that come with the games out of the box? I'd love to see more, or a good process for making some myself. And Riyan would, too. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

PS: If I can find a microphone, I'll try and record Riyan humming it and post it here. It's hard to listen to without laughing really hard.

Are you sure he's not broken I hear some do that occasionally....Maybe you can return him for a replacement or maybe get him repaired....Sounds kind of uber to me...Otherwise, you'll just have to get used to the humming.

Anywho, as to making movies or even downloading some rather stunning ones made by other members, check out the movie maker forums here...

If you have Pacific Fighters, and your son starts humming the Japanese theme song I'd suggest saving for Julliard School of Music.......or at least a musical instrument. (It's a pretty complex song....especially for a tyke.)

LOL. I used to play a few games with my daughter watching on my lap too when she was about the same age. (I`ve got a pic of it somewhere...) Balders gate I think. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

And guess what, she still likes a game of NeverWinterNights at 14 and always playing as a Sorceress! Who knows, your boy might become a fighter pilot...or at least be playing the next gen sim in 10 years!

Hasn't started that one yet. Between my fiancee and I, we have several trumpets he'll get to play when he's old enough. He already does a great lip buzz!

Not sure about a kyoto. Might have to find a used one. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif
