Why so sad? I shall be celebrating this man's full and long life and rejoicing that the likes of he ever walked this Earth.

S! Tex RIP

He is one I was looking for at the Gathering, but I never found him, I know he was on the billing, maybe he was feeling down is why.

Unless I just missed him.

We had the opportunity to meet Tex at an airshow, and he autographed a copy of his autobiography for my son.

He wrote, "To Alex, Be honest Be kind and Be the best you can be and follow your dream. 'Tex' Hill."

To the man's already substantial legacy, I would add that Tex was also in every way a gentleman.

Happy Landings, Tex!

Sorry to hear. BTW, the news link has apparently already been buried!! Sad that the news coverage for someone like him has to be buried with stories about the latest crime or weather.

I had the honor to have Tex Hill pin my wings on in Jan 1969 at Randolph AFB, TX. He was a good friend of our family and it was one of the most remembered events of my 26 years of flying fighters.

Salute, Tex, and thanks for all you gave us...

I've run out of words to express my respect and thanx to these few who stood against many. We keep losing them, but we sure won't forget.
