I found this on gamespot

Silent Hunter 5 ventures into uncharted territory and takes players behind the periscope of a German U-boat to take on the Allied Forces in famous battles across the vast Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. For the first time in the history of the series, players can live the life of a submarine captain from a first-person view and lead a crew in a critical campaign."

really shous howbig this is going to be i think this means that we will be up aganst the 10th Flottila that oprated in the med let's hope that the devs see fit to release a add on form the allied perspectives so we can fight as thay used to say for King and country

It would be nice if a possible addon also allowed you to walk around in the sub http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I think that they maybe should make an addon for russian subs, the huge liner Wilhelm Gustloff, was sunk by a russian submarine.

It COULD be ecxiting http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Sinking the Gustloff... Fleeing from a brutal Soviet Red Army onslaught, the Wilhelm Gustloff is ready to leave port jammed with over 10,000 German refugees, naval personnel and wounded soldiers. The vessel is designed to hold a maximum of 1,880 passengers and crew. Of the refugees, a staggering four thousand are infants, children and youths on their way to promising safety in the West. Minus 18° Celsius (0° Fahrenheit) weather grips the Oxhöft Pier in Gotenhafen (Gdynia) on Tuesday the 30th day of January 1945.

The Gustloff is supposed to be accompanied only by the Hansa (another liner filled with thousands headed West) and two aging torpedo boats. Things worsen when the Hansa and one of the torpedo boat escorts develop problems and cannot continue. The Wilhelm Gustloff is basically alone in an unforgiving sea with only one small escort to protect it.
...
With that, the total number of survivors rescued number approximately 1,230. Over 9,000 go to their deaths – trapped at the bottom of the Baltic or floating frozen on its unforgiving surface.

Really something to be "proud of" - don't you think? :-(

Such as letting the boys from the Bismarck freeze to death. Sure, they explained it by the U-boat threat, but, come on... Not all U-boats fired on ships doing rescue operations...

This discussion has gone way off topic, anyone want to bring it back on track?

Hello fellow forumers,

Firstly, as far as SHV is concerned, im only intrested in uboats. If a add on arrives on the scene from the allies prespective, great!

Secondly, Why oh why is there always some one out there ready to lay the "history guilt trip" on us! this is a game.im not a bloodthirsty maniac[beer=yes/blood=no]. NO disrespect intended Fredo_1969 don't need a history lesson thanx http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Gunter Grass' last book "Crabwalk" revolved around the sinking of the Wilhelm Gustloff.

Very good book.

Interesting....torpedo tag in the Med. Rats, now I can't remember the name of the convoy that delivered the tanks for Operation Battleaxe. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif That's be a nice one to hit.

The diffrence is that the Bismark was a warship full of german seamen who expected to die.Now the Gustloff was a civlian ship I can understand sinking a tanker as that constricts the axis supplises but the attack on the the Gustloff was totaly unjustafied . In all Honsaty war is a dirty hatful passtime that we as a species seem to insists on continung no mater how meany people die or how wmeeny famleys are ripped apart (fact)
